Downtown Christmas Event

Every child who has ever attended Downtown Stevensville’s Parade of Lights presented by the Stevensville Civic Club and the Town of Stevensville, wants to know how they can be the one to flip the switch illuminating Main Street’s holiday lights. There's only one way: winning the Flip-the-Switch Coloring Contest.

 

Last year, the Parade of Lights looked different as measures were taken to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event still captured the charm of our community, though. Special elements of this new tradition will continue in 2021, with the same parade of lights and new additions brought to us by community partners.

 

Thanks to the volunteers of the Stevensville Civic Club, American Legion Post #94, and the Stevensville Fire Department, Stevensville’s iconic Main Street holiday lights are up, and one lucky child will get to turn them on.

The Mayor’s Office is sharing a few tips to help you prepare your coloring entry:

 

WHO:

Children ages 3 – 12 who live in the greater Stevensville area can participate in the Flip-the-Switch Coloring Contest.

 

WHEN:

The Coloring sheets are available through December 1st. Make sure to turn your sheet in before 5:00pm, December 1st. If you are mailing your entry, we advise that it's mailed by Saturday, Nov. 27th.

 

One contest entry will win the honor of flipping the switch on Friday, Dec. 3rd.

 

WHERE:

You can download a copy of the coloring sheet at www.townofstevensville.com/community or pick up a hard copy at Stevensville Town Hall.

WHAT THE WINNER WILL RECEIVE:

One finalist will be selected based on creativity. The one entry that receives the most votes from our panel of judges will be selected to “flip the switch” at Downtown Stevensville’s Parade of Lights at Third and Main Streets Friday, Dec. 3rd.

 

THINK STEVENSVILLE:

The event takes place on Main Street in Downtown Stevensville. The judges are our partners, so think about them. (Stevensville Civic Club, Project 59870, Town of Stevensville)

 

CREATIVE HOLIDAY THEME:

Think outside the bulb! You don’t have to stay inside the lines and you can use any medium to create your entry.  We love seeing the creativity for these holiday masterpieces.
