Public Works General Labor/Operator

This position has an on-call/as needed status to assist with manpower coverage of the Department.

The Public Works General Labor/Operator is a support position to the Public Works Supervisor. The position performs variety of semi-skilled and skilled departmental maintenance duties and performs work in the operation of specialized equipment and vehicles in the operations and maintenance of the Town’s cemeteries, parks, streets, water and wastewater systems. This position involves daily operation of public works utilities including but not limited to:  Utility maintenance and repair, assisting water/sewer maintenance and repair,  using heavy equipment and tools, pipe repairs, garbage pickup, street repairs, building repairs and maintenance, lawn maintenance and all other duties as assigned.

A high school diploma or equivalency is required and two years of relevant experience. Any combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Incumbent must have a satisfactory driving history record and possess or be able to obtain within 60 days of employment, a Class B Montana Commercial Driver License (CDL).

Compensation:

This position has a starting wage of $15.00/hr and will be compensated according to the FY2021 wages and salaries matrix.
