STATUS: Intermittent employee; not eligible for benefits

HOURLY RATE: $9.15 - $15.00 hourly

General Statement

The Parks Maintenance Worker / Park Attendant works to assist in the routine maintenance and repair of the Town of Stevensville Parks and Recreation grounds and facilities assigned. Responsible to provide the Town of Stevensville citizens with a pleasant outdoor environment by ensuring all parks, trees, weeds, grass, cemetery, streets, and swimming pool are clean, well-cared for, beautiful and up kept. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Turf and Landscape Maintenance
  • Facilities Maintenance
  • Refuse Collection
  • Light Duty Construction
  • Light Duty Equipment Operation

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic knowledge of lawn care
  • Knowledge of safe operation of a variety of small power or light duty equipment and hand tools such as power mower, hedge trimmer, weed eater, electric power tools, and assorted gardening implements
  • Ability to perform simple construction projects, including painting and minor repairs
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of laws, safety requirements, and procedures for working with materials and supplies associated with park and athletic maintenance activities
  • Ability to work on a team and maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to practice safe work habits while in the operation of Town of Stevensville vehicle(s) and equipment

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalency (preferred)
  • Must have a valid State of Montana driver’s license
  • Verified acceptable driving record

Special Condition

Employee scheduled variable hours per week based solely on department needs
Variable dates available from April/May – September/October
Duties are usually performed outdoors with exposure to sometimes extreme weather
Lifting and moving of equipment and material weighing up to 50 pounds
