TOWN SERVICES PLAN STATUS: Reopening Phase 1

The Town of Stevensville is committed to providing the essential services you rely on throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic and the recovery process. With the release of Governor Bullock's phased reopening plan, the Town has implemented protocols to ensure the safety of citizens and staff while the community reopens and recovers from the effects of COVID-19. 

Changes to facilities have been completed and plans for sanitation of our facilities are being finalized to satisfy the guidelines of Governor Bullock's re-opening directives. Here are a few highlights of the changes:

  • Administrative offices have been re-configured to allow easier and convenient access to the Court and Police Department. The Law & Justice customer service window is now located in the lobby of Town Hall across from the existing public service window. All Police and Court related matters will now be handled at the Law & Justice window.
  • Facilities will be cleaned on an increased basis, including Town Hall, playground equipment and restroom facilities at parks when they open. 

Below are the changes to Town Services during Phase 1 of the Governor's Reopening the Big Sky Plan:

All public meetings will be held electronically according to the Citizen Guide for Virtual Public Meetings and Citizen Participation. Please consult the calendar on the Town’s website. We are taking this measure for the health of our employees and the public. Schedule modifications may occur as the situation changes.

We are making these changes to Town service delivery:

The public service window at Town Hall will open on Monday, May 4th. Visitors will be required to observe physical distancing practices. Citizens are encouraged to continue using the alternative methods provided virtually to conduct business with Town Hall.

Payments can be made in the following ways:

Building Code Enforcement will continue to conduct inspections by appointment. Building permits can be downloaded online at: https://www.townofstevensville.com/building. Permits can be faxed to 406-777-4284 or emailed to building@townofstevensville.com payment arrangements for building permits will be made by permitting staff. Permits and plans can be exchanged at the public service window in Town Hall.

The Water Division has suspended all non-emergency services in customers’ homes. Meter change-outs will not be conducted.

Walk-in Services for the Police Department will resume on Monday May 4th at the Law & Justice Customer Service window in the lobby of Town Hall. Finger printing appointments will not be accepted. Police administration can be reached at 777-3011 or 777-5271. Records requests can be completed in-person or online at: https://www.townofstevensville.com/police

City Court will hold appearances beginning Wednesday, May 6th. Court payments can be made in person at the Law & Justice Customer Service window in the lobby of Town Hall.

Park and Recreation facility use restrictions will be modified in accordance with the Governor’s Order. Groups are limited to 10 people. Playgrounds will re-open however physical distancing practices must be followed. City Pool will remain closed.

Cemetery services will resume, with graveside gatherings limited to 10 people.

 

The coronavirus outbreak is an emerging, rapidly evolving situation, and preparedness and response information may change quickly. The Town of Stevensville will provide updated information as it becomes available.
